Kimono Styled Around Your Favourite Sanrio Friend
Most kimono shops in Asakusa, Tokyo style every guest the same classic way. If you wanted something colourful and cute, you usually end up choosing between a plain obi and a single hair clip.
We built our character styling the other way round. Pastel and colour-blocked obi, ribbon obijime, lace collars and playful hair accessories — and a shelf of Sanrio plush, Hello Kitty, Kuromi and My Melody among them, that you are welcome to carry and photograph throughout your session.
It costs the same as any other kimono rental. Tell us which character you have in mind before you arrive and we will set the pieces aside for you.

Hello Kitty, Kuromi and My Melody
Soft pinks and reds, a red ribbon in the hair, and a classic pastel obi. Our most requested look, and the easiest to match with any kimono.
Black, purple and monochrome. A bolder look that pairs well with our darker kimono and lace collars, for guests who want cute with an edge.
Pale pink and white with ribbon details, styled soft and gentle. A favourite for couples and friends booking a matching look together.
Included in Your Kimono Rental
Every rental includes dressing by our staff, hairstyling with accessories, obi, tabi socks, sandals and a matching bag. Dressing takes around 25 to 30 minutes. If you would like makeup as well, allow another 40 to 50 minutes.
Character styling is a way of putting the pieces together, not a separate product. Our stylists build the look with you on the day, and you can go as bold or as subtle as you like.

Hello Kitty Kimono FAQ
Do you have Hello Kitty, Kuromi and My Melody plush?
Yes — all three, plus a few other Sanrio friends. They are genuine plush that we keep in the shop and lend to guests as photo props for the day. They come back with the kimono at the end of your rental.
Is this an official Sanrio collaboration?
No. We are an independent kimono shop. We simply keep a collection of Sanrio plush and style kimono looks around them, because so many guests ask for it.
Does a character look cost more?
No. Character styling is included at the same price as any other kimono rental. Nothing on this page carries a surcharge.
Can I request a specific character?
Yes. Message us before you arrive with the character you want and we will set the plush and matching accessories aside for you.
Can I combine character styling with a furisode?
Yes. Character styling works with any kimono in the shop, including furisode and lace designs. Furisode is priced by its own tier, as it is for every guest.
Can I bring my own plush?
Please do. Our stylists are happy to work your own pieces into the look, and many guests bring something of their own for photos.
