Every price above is for a full-day rental. You return the kimono by closing time on the same day — there is no hourly meter running while you explore.
What is included in the price?
This is where shops differ most, and where the advertised number can mislead you. Our price includes:

- Professional dressing by trained staff
- Hair styling — included, not an add-on
- Tabi socks and zori sandals
- A bag to carry your own clothes
- Free luggage storage while you are out

Why do some shops advertise 3,000 JPY?
You will see very low numbers advertised around Asakusa. They are usually real, but incomplete. Common exclusions:
- Hair styling charged separately at 1,500–3,000 JPY
- Time limits of two or three hours instead of full day
- The cheapest tier limited to a small rack of worn garments
- Obi upgrade fees to get anything beyond the plain default
A useful check before booking anywhere: ask whether hair styling and the return time are included. Those two answers explain almost every price gap in the neighbourhood.
Do I need to book in advance?
No. We accept walk-ins from 08:00 to 20:00, seven days a week. That said, three periods fill up fast and a reservation genuinely helps:
- Cherry blossom season — late March to early April
- Autumn foliage — mid November to early December
- Weekends between 10:00 and 13:00, year round
Outside those windows you can usually walk in and be dressed within 30 minutes.
How long does the whole process take?
Budget 45 to 60 minutes from arrival to walking out the door:
- Choosing your kimono — 15 to 20 minutes
- Dressing — 15 minutes
- Hair styling — 15 to 20 minutes
Couples and groups take longer simply because choosing takes longer. If you are on a tight schedule, arrive before 10:00.
What about photoshoots?
Two options, priced separately from the rental:
- Natural package — unedited photos delivered the same day. Good if you want images immediately for social media.
- Retouched package — professionally edited, delivered in 10 to 15 days. Better for prints and keepsakes.
You are also free to shoot your own photos. Sensoji is a two-minute walk, and the Nakamise shopping street between the gates is one of the most photographed spots in Tokyo.

FAQ
Can I wear a rented kimono all day around Tokyo?
Yes. The rental covers the full day until closing time, and you are free to travel anywhere in the city. Many guests visit Ueno, Ginza or Tokyo Skytree while wearing theirs.
What happens if it rains?
Rentals go ahead as normal. Silk kimono handle light rain fine, and we can suggest indoor photo spots nearby. Heavy rain is the one time we would recommend rescheduling.
Is hair styling really included?
Yes, in every rental tier including the 5,000 JPY traditional kimono. Hair accessories are included too.
Can men rent kimono here?
Yes. Men’s kimono is 7,000 JPY and includes dressing and hair styling. Couple sets are our most common booking.
What size range do you carry?
We stock over 500 kimono covering a wide range of heights and body types, including plus sizes and tall visitors. Nothing needs to be booked in a specific size in advance.
Do I need to know anything about wearing kimono?
No. Our staff handle every step of the dressing, and we will show you how to walk, sit and use the restroom while wearing it before you leave.
